Our Ideas For The Film Noir
Whilst shooting our film there were a number of differnt things wrong as i have explained in my last posts about our progress.
This is daisy conway- http://daisyconwaymedia.blogspot.com/ from my group pretending to be the femme fatale, she is walking towards her victim which is the man.
the next clip is of the femme fatale holding a weapon, we used a screwdriver to represent a 'knife'. In our film we decided to now use a gun, she is still embracing the man.
the final image shows the femme fatale stabbing her victim which she went to meet, this is where our film will end.
We added our new scene where the femme fatale meets her victim and we took some photo's to add as a story board for our film.
Lydia- http://lydiaearlasmedia.blogspot.com/ in my group was taking the photographs.

Signifiers
In our media project we are using a number of signifiers, for example:
our femme fatale putting on red lipstick, red nail varnish, red shoes to signify that she is dangerous and powerful as the colour red signifys danger.
The signs our audience may reconigise when watching our film noir is that she is going somewhere, this will keep the audience guessing, wheres she going? who wants to meet her? why is she glamourising herself?
The ways the audience will identify who the protagonist and antagonist is, is the protagonist is obvious from the start chloe ( the femme fatale) is the main character, we follow her journey to when shes meeting her victim or 'prey'.
The antagonist is the man because he is powerless.
Semiotics
Semiotics, also known as semiotic studies or semiology or signification and communication, signs and symbols, and is usually divided into three branches:
Semantics: Relation between signs and the things to which they refer; their denotata
Syntactics: Relations among signs in formal structures
Pragmatics: Relation between signs and their effects on those (people) who use them.

Semiotics are known as 'the study of signs'.
this was the only picture i could find to demonstrate semiotics :

Feedback
In our media lesson we asked some students in our class to watch our film and give us some feeback to what we could improve and what was good about it.
The reactions to the film were good, most were shocked when they saw that she was concealing a gun.
The improvements we could make would be to make it flow more so its not just clip after clip, our media teacher Ms Humpbleby also suggested that we should take out one of our clips of the gun because once the audience sees the gun there are too many clips of her holding the gun to his head, we wanted it to flow smoothly.

Our Films Progress
On Thursday 18th of February my group and i decided to re-shoot some of our clips, as before they didn't look right on our film, they were too dark and we needed a tripod because some of our clips were shakey.
We started filming and we got 2 clips filmed but the weather was causing a problem and we kept getting rain on the camera, this made it unable to film so we rescheduled filming until Sunday 21st.
Re-shooting consisted of us filming the Femme Fatales walking scenes to meet her victim.
We also added a new ending where the Femme Fatale meets her victim, hugs him and whilst embracing the hug she puts a gun to his head, the trigger is pulled and the gun falls to the ground in slow motion.
This is so the audience will wonder which of the characters has been shot.
Filming was a success and we are now in the process of editing.
